About us
Now in our 30th season, Tannery Pond Concerts presents chamber music in the heart of the scenic Berkshires. Our mission is to present world-class artists at affordable ticket prices in an intimate setting. Performances are held between May and September. Here you will find the intimacy of a true chamber music environment without long lines or crowded parking lots.
The outstanding musicians who have appeared in recent seasons at the Tannery include Emanuel Ax, the Tokyo String Quartet, Jeremy Denk, and the Brentano Quartet, among many other of today's leading musicians.
Tannery Pond Concert's artistic director, Christian Steiner, is a concert pianist and professional photographer of some of the most notable musicians of our time.
The Tannery, built by the Shakers in 1834, is a renovated barn-like structure of warmly resonant wood with excellent acoustics. Its size fosters an intimate and interactive relationship between audience and artists.
